Teen SEGMENT 1

To be eligible and register for our Ludington, MI, Driver Education, your teen must be at least 14 years, 8 months old and able to complete 26 hours of classroom instruction, 6 hours of driving, and 4 hours of observation. The written exam consists of 80 multiple choice questions, and each student must pass with a score of 70% or better. Upon completion of Teen Segment I, the student will receive a certificate to obtain a Level I License from the Secretary of State. A $100 deposit is required to hold your seat in a class. This deposit and any payments made are transferable if you let the office know seven days prior to your class starting but they are nonrefundable. All classes and driving sessions must be completed within 6 weeks from the start date. If you are over 18 years old, you must have a Temporary Instruction Permit from the Secretary of State prior to doing any drives. Class times are subject to change.

In order to qualify for Teen Segment 2, your teen must have had a Level 1 license for 3 months and have a minimum of 30 logged driving hours. Two of these hours must have been at night. This class will be held over three days. Each class involves 2 hours of classroom instruction with no driving requirements. There will also be a test at the end. Teen Segment 2 is designed to help students learn to identify risks with a special focus on dangerous driving behaviors, such as texting and driving, alcohol and drugs, and fatigue and emotions.

We will customize your lessons around your specific needs. Whether you only need an hour for review or several hours to prepare for the road test, we’ll make sure you’re fully prepared.​
